Psalm 151:5

Great agony becomes me as my eyes set upon the great divide.

A chasm of mine and yours, them and us, ours and theirs, with no place in the middle to abide.

They’re crazy without limits but we are proper and strict,

We roll on the ground, but they just sit there,

They speak in weird tongues, but we don’t believe in that.

My heart rips as the bride tears herself apart. When did this all start?

The arm punching the stomach, the eyes telling the ears they’re useless, the feet kicking the head, the back not supporting itself.

Are we disciples of a movement or of God?

Disciples of some dead preacher or of the only Teacher who is good?

Are we part of a denomination or of the whole body of Christ?

Oh Lord, that You would shift our focus. That You would change our perception of church.

Break our hearts for one another. Let us see each other’s pain, let us carry one another’s burdens.

Let us reach out to “them” or “those” and embrace them and never let go.

That we would love as You love that we would be willing to die for our brothers and sisters.

Bring us to unity. Let us be one as You and the Father are one!

Have mercy on us! Forgive us for judging YOUR bride. For bad mouthing the one YOU love.

For not caring for the one YOU died for!

God help us!

Please have mercy cause we have really missed the mark.

We are the reason Your bride is so dirty.

We’ve been cursing her with our careless talk.

Suppressing her our thoughtless actions. Oh Jesus! Open our eyes!

Break our hearts. Humble us before one another.

Let us love as You love.
